China National Tourism Administration Chairman Shao Qiwei and Vice Chairman Du Jiang Listen to Work Report of CTA

On the morning of March 18 2011, China National Tourism Administration Chairman Shao Qiwei and Vice Chairman Du Jiang listened to the work report of China Tourism Academy.
President Dai Bin reported on major achievements since the establishment of the CTA, future development strategy and issues that need attention. Vice chairman Du Jiang recognized the achievements of China Tourism Academy. He said that although China Tourism Academy is not a large organization, yet it is of great influence and has done a lot of work in a short period of time. Especially in the government think tank and service sectors, China Tourism Academy has scored excellent results; and in the future, it needs to spare more efforts in academic field. Only by doing a good job in fundamental academic researches can we better serve the governments and the tourism industry.
In his closing remarks, Chariman Shao Qiwei pointed out that since its establishment, the China Tourism Academy has done a lot of work in the past two years, greatly promoting the development of China’s tourism industry. Since its establishment to basically on normal track, the China Tourism Academy has overcome many difficulties and scored many achievements in a short time. Its biggest contribution is changing the paradigm of how to better rely on scientific technologies and academic researches to drive the development of China’s tourism industry. In the future, the China Tourism Academy needs to pay more attention to the construction of fundamental projects, continue to drive the development of academic and talents sectors of the tourism industry, as well as strive to cultivate the tourism industry into a strategic pillar industry of national economy and a modern service industry which is more satisfying to the general public. The China Tourism Academy needs to view the researches on tourism science from an international perspective, improve its say in the international society, and support academic researches of tourism institutes. Meanwhile, it needs to pool all resources to publish at an early date national-level academic journals and prestigious magazines for the tourism industry. Relevant departments at the China National Tourism Administration need to deliberate issues from strategic heights and vigorously support the development of China Tourism Academy.
