Cooperation Agreement Signed Between CAT and International Organizations in Chengdu

May 10th, hosted by Chengdu Municipal Government and Centre for China-Europe Cooperation (CCEC), the “1st Anniversary of CCEC (Chengdu) & Lightening Ceremony of Sino-Europe Tourism Year” was held in Chengdu. Istvan Ujhelyi, member of European Parliament (MEP), vice-chair of the European Parliament's Transport and Tourism Committee and Chairman of Europe China “OBOR” Culture & Tourism Development Committee and Tang Xiaoyun, Chief Statistician of CAT were invited to attend the ceremony. Tu Zhi, Vice Secretary of Chengdu Municipal Government, Laurent Bochereau, Delegation of the European Union to China, Paul Sives, President of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (EUCCC) Southwest Chapter, Dai Yiling, Director of the EU Project Innovation Centre (EUPIC) attended the ceremony and addressed. About 300 attendants participated the activity, including representatives of Consulate-General of Czech, Germany, France, and Italy to Chengdu and Chongqiong, representatives of EU organizations to Chengdu and Chongqiong. At the night, the building of “CCEC” was brightened in “EU blue” as one of the landmark buildings of “Sino-Europe Tourism Year 2018 Lightening Ceremony”

Authorized by President Dai Bin, Tang Xiaoyun ,on behalf of CAT, signed the four-party strategic cooperation agreement with Europe China “OBOR” Culture & Tourism Development Committee, Chengdu Tourism Bureau, and EUPIC (Chengdu). Based on the “Working in equal and mutual benefit, sharing a win-win situation” , the signing of the agreement will enable all parties to work together to stimulate Sino-EU tourism market and industrial development. More bilateral cultural and tourism exchanges among tourism enterprises should be carried out to boost the communication between Chengdu “OBOR” country cities, to strengthen China and Europe friendship, to promote China-EU cultural dialogue and civil communication and to input new driver to the overall strategic partnership between China and EU in new era. After the signing ceremony, the four parties held the first work meeting and have a dialogue in recent cooperation.
