Professor Simmons of University of Lincoln was Invited to Give an Academic Lecture

On the afternoon of May 24, Professor Simmons of University of Lincoln was invited to give an academic lecture on “Explore Tourism Output and Evaluate Sustainable Tourism - Take New Zealand as an Example”. More than ten staff members, postdoctorals and visiting scholars of CTA attended the lecture which was hosted by Vice President Li Zhongguang.

Before the lecture, Vice President Li Zhongguang met with Professor Simmons and extended a warm welcome to him. According to him, both China and New Zealand enjoy rich tourism resources, and the steady increase in the number of mutual visits in recent years is the achievements of the tourism workers of both countries. Professor Simmons said he is wiling to strengthen the cooperation in tourism education, tourism R&D and other fields with CTA, to jointly promote tourism development in both countries. Vice President Li Zhongguang offered CTA’s R&D results to Professor Simmons.

Subsequently, Professor Simmons gave a lecture on “Explore Tourism Output and Evaluate Sustainable Tourism - Take New Zealand as an Example”, in which from the dimensions of private sectors, public sectors and tourists, he illustrated New Zealand’s experience and exploration on tourism output to perform effective destination management and finally realize sustainable tourism.

Some researchers and postdoctorals of CTA had in-depth exchange and discussions with Professor Simmons on New Zealand’s sustainable tourism and other issues. Sun Jidong, International Marketing Manager of International Department of University of Lincoln, also attended the lecture.
