President Dai Bin Led a Team to Investigate the Tourism of Gansu Province

Invited by Gansu Provincial Committee of the CPC, President Dai Bin led a team to investigate the tourism of Gansu Province from June 4~7. On June 4, Tang Renjian, Deputy Secretary of Gansu Provincial Committee of the CPC and Governor of Gansu Province, welcomed the team in Lanzhou, introduced the development of tourism resources and industry in Gansu, and hoped CTA will support Gansu’s tourism by virtue of its expertise and advantages. According to President Dai Bin, Gansu enjoys rich tourism resources, holds prominent national strategic position, and is seeing a rapid tourism development trend. However, at present, the overall development indicators do not match its resource endowment, and CTA is willing to make efforts to help Gansu become a strong tourism province. 

On June 5, Yu Chenghui, Secretary of Gannan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture Committee of the CPC, welcomed the team and comprehensively introduced “Garbage Free in the Whole Region” concept of the Prefecture, as well as the corresponding measures and achievements. The team successively visited Dangzhou Grassland, Yeliguan Scenic Spot and Miaohuashan Village, practically feeling “Garbage Free in the Whole Region” and the efforts to alleviate poverty through tourism. On June 6, the team visited Hadapu, Guanegou National Forest Park, Wanxiang Karst Cave and some other scenic areas. Sun Xuetao, Secretary of Longnan Municipal Committee of the CPC, welcomed the team and introduced the overall tourism development of Longnan, especially olive planting and the thought to expand olive industry chain through tourism.

On the morning of June 7, the investigation feedback symposium was held in Longnan. Minister Ma Tingli, the leaders of the Unified Front Work Department of Gansu Provincial Committee of the CPC, Gansu Provincial Commission of Tourism Development, Longnan Municipal Committee of the CPC and Longnan Municipal People’s Government, and cadres and workers of tourism institutions attended the symposium. President Dai Bin gave a speech titled “Do Well in the Silk Road Work and Plan for the New Development of Gansu’s Tourism”. From the national strategic perspective “Belt and Road”, he hoped Gansu’s Tourism undertake more national responsibilities, to serve as an import platform and window to show China’s beautiful scenery, happy life and poverty alleviation responsibility to the world, and also proposed detailed strategic measures regarding Dunhuang’s silk and road culture, Ganan’s Tibetan culture and Longnan’s comprehensive tourism development, as well as integration of tourism and industry. Minister Ma Tingli expressed thanks to the team, and said the team valued Gansu’s tourism from the national strategic perspective “Belt and Road”, which can be an effective way for the leaping development of Gansu’s tourism. He also hoped President Dai Bin and CTA continue to support Gansu in terms of planning, research, training and lecture on the thematic tourism. President Dai Bin said the team will further research and complete the investigation report and submit that to Gansu Provincial Committee of the CPC and Gansu Municipal People’s Government.

Doctor Wu Fenglin, Vice Director of the Institute of Regional Tourism Planning and Development of CTA, postdoctoral Li Ning, and Han Kaizhou, Chairman of the Board of T-Box Union (China) Financial Holdings Investments Limited, also participated in the investigation.
