President Dai Bin Led a Team to Investigate Austrian Market of Tourism to China

In order to better understand European market of tourism to China regarding its potential, demand change, traveling sales channels and policy demands, etc., approved by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, a CTA delegation successively visited and communicated with the institutions including ACEC, Eurostar, Golden Source, C&S, etc., and visited Ferien-Messe Wien which is an international event for vacation, tourism and leisure in Vienna from Jan. 8th to 10th (local time).

Walter Rudolf Bittner, Vice President of ACEC, shared the progress of the joint projects of the two countries in economic cooperation, cultural exchanges, research travel, urban management and other fields. Both sides discussed the cooperation direction and feasible ways for “Belt and Road” tourism information sharing, data exchange and academic communication, as well as for promoting exhibition and encouraging tourism market.

Zhang Chunjuan, Chairman of Eurostar, and Wu Yingzhuo, General Manager of Golden Source, introduced to the delegation the plan of Chilling & Spice project, which is a Chinese tourism fashion brand jointly promoted to the tourism market of Austria and neighboring countries by those two travel agencies. The delegation introduced domestic tourism, the integrated development of culture and tourism, as well as visa and tax exemption policies, and expressed close attention will be paid  to the market trend of European tourism to China, especially the development of travel agencies and their demands.

During visit to Ferien-Messe Wien, the delegation compared the exhibition booths of China and those of Eastern European and Asian countries and regions, and discussed with Chen Chen, director of the Chinese Tourism Office in Zurich, the achievements, experience and innovative ideas of the cultural and tourism departments regarding overseas exhibition invitation, arrangement, promotion and negotiation.

Dr. Han Yuanjun from the Institute of Tourism Policy and Strategy Studies and Dr. Zhan Dongmei from the Institute of Tourism Industry and Enterprise Development participated in relevant research, meetings and investigation.
